Hey y’all!
I just recently (after starting this “project” months ago!) finished organizing the linen closet in our guest bathroom & I’m excited to share it with you guys. This closet is one of our only storage spaces, with this being an older house. I’ve been hyper-focused on making every room as functional as possible so it was really time to get this closet in order.

So y’all know I’m always eager to give tips on what works for my space, that can possibly work for yours. Here’s what I recommend when organizing a linen closet:
Take inventory on everything that will go in the closet. This is a tried & true tip I use when organizing any space, really. Listing out the items that I’ll be organizing & even working up the layout beforehand, really helps the process flow smoother.
Use containers to hold cleaning supplies vs. sitting them on the shelves. Sprays & liquids can drip, leak, etc. so keeping them in plastic containers keeps your shelves in tact & free from ruin.
If guests will be using this closet, make things easily accessible. I included a basket with toiletries that I put on a lower shelf for ease of use. I also put the toilet tissue & paper towels further down & within clear view.
Use labels on baskets! This is a simple tip but definitely helps when you’re searching for things.
Organize shelves based on what you use most. I put the cleaning supplies, which I use almost daily, in a spot that I can reach easily. They’re low enough for me to grab at eye level but high enough so that kids can’t reach them. I put miscellaneous items like our humidifiers on the highest shelf, because we don’t use them that often. I also put Leana’s laundry basket on the floor, so that we could both reach it.
I’m working on organizing a few other areas in our home so I’ll be sure to share those spaces with y’all.
